Team Spotlight: Ryan Evans
Team Spotlight
Ryan Evans

Ryan Evans met with us for an interview based on the advice of a trusted friend who had nothing but praise for Scali Rasmussen. After a few short interactions with his future firm colleagues, he knew teaming up with us was the right decision
“I was really struck by how sharp and collaborative everyone was,” he says. “It felt like a place where I could grow and contribute in a meaningful way.”
As a principal at the firm, Ryan focuses on business and employment litigation, handling everything from complex commercial disputes to sensitive workplace issues like wage claims and discrimination allegations. “Most of my day is spent deep in the details; drafting motions, prepping for court, negotiating resolutions,” he explains. “The work is fast-paced, but the variety keeps things interesting.”
It’s not the spirited speechmaking and lectern-pounding that attracts Ryan to litigation. He’s more interested in the strategy behind it, the thinking ahead and all the necessary prep work that comes with it.
“I really enjoy business disputes that involve building a game plan,” he says. “And on the employment side, I find it meaningful to help clients resolve difficult situations in ways that are both legally sound and good for their workplace culture.”
Ryan’s role at the firm since joining has shifted more into a leadership position, and he now spends more time shaping overall strategy rather than executing it. He brings a steady, thoughtful presence to his work, which his clients and colleagues have both come to rely on.
“I’ve been told I stay calm even when things get hectic,” he says. “I try to listen carefully, follow through on what I say, and keep things moving forward.”
Outside the office, Ryan is fueled by travel and music, or ideally both. He’s a fan of live shows, adventurous eats, and winter ski trips. He’s always working to improve body and mind as an avid weightlifter and reader (of fantasy novels in particular, though he’ll always give an Agatha Christie or Michael Crichton novel a read).
But whatever he’s doing, his thinking is always focused on thoughtfulness.
“My grandmother always emphasized the importance of kindness and listening. That perspective has stayed with me and shaped the way I work and connect with people. Taking the time to truly listen can change the way you connect with people and solve problems," Ryan says.
